Replay of SNL Presidential Date

Nov. 8th, 2008 | 09:24 pm

I'm at my parents' house, watching a replay of SNL political clips that originally aired the night before the American presidential election. Watching a show like this with my parents is a comedy/frustration event on its own. My parents haven't watched any media leading up to the election and my Mother in particular doesn't seem to understand the fundamental principles of comedy.
Telling remarks:
"Is that Barack Obama?" No, Mom, that's an actor impersonating Barack Obama.
"That's not really Joe Biden, is it?"  No Mom, that's not Joe Biden.
"Is that supposed to be Clinton?" No Mom, it's supposed to be Reagan.

Today's News

Feb. 1st, 2006 | 09:51 am

Things are going great, despite the fact that Donald and I are both really sick with the same cold. We are going to see the naturopath tomorrow about his hand too, so that should be interesting. We both show up with malaria and yet we want to talk to the doctor about his hand. Anyway. Donald is at this moment, at my apartment while I am at work. He's still very sick and should get some rest, which he is apparently unable to get at his apartment with all the crazies around. And he seems dead set on cleaning and scrubbing while I'm away. This scares me a little but we'll see. We've spent every day together since Elaine left and don't show any signs of stopping. However, eventually when he's feeling better he will have to go back to work and that means he will probably have to go home.
I'm super excited about the flash thing that we've been working on. I say "we" because I've been working at home so that Donald can help me draw the cartoons. I'm assembling them in flash right now and it's looking cool.

Today's News

Jan. 26th, 2006 | 10:22 am

We had the iron chef tournament last night and the secret ingredient Donald picked was.... mussels! The food was really good, although probably not really cooked with mussels specifically in mind. No complaints here though. However, later on in the night we came to the realization that Donald is, in fact allergic to mussels. His throat started closing up almost immediately but it wasn't until later that we figured it out. I gave him some diphenhydramine so hopefully he will be feeling better soon... otherwise there's no way he could go back to work tomorrow and he already called in sick on tuesday. Oh well.

Big Night for Taxes

Jan. 17th, 2006 | 11:48 am

I went over to the house last night to help Donald with his taxes. We got it all done but it turns out that the Netfile option for filing isn't available right now. So now we have to mail all this stuff in. After being bummed out from the taxes, we went to get some coffee. That totally perked me up and we went back to the house and looked at cool websites. We totally like all the same stuff... I had so much fun. I am now in some serious trouble because I realize how much I like him. He said that he had previously decided not to get into any serious relationships for a year, but changed his mind because he also believes in this carpe diem stuff. I hope this is a good sign. He thinks it's interesting that I've only known him at his absolutely most lost and broken dire straights. I guess that is kind of funny but I think that it's kind of the best way to start a relationship because then when you say "for better or for worse," you've already seen the worst and handled it. Well hopefully the worst. :)
